The villain always wants to suck me bald [Quick Wear] Chapter 5
Little Stand-in 5
Lu Changshu didn't know what words to use to describe the situation.
One moment he'd seen his subordinate off, and the next, he was pinned to his (Mu Zhi) arm, staring at him with wide eyes.
"He's so cute!" Mu Zhi said, holding up the kitten. "He looks like he's still a baby."
He wasn't a baby anymore.
He'd just gotten married last year, and lately, he'd been acting young and running around to earn money for baby milk. He loved to meow nonstop with his quadruplets on voice chat.
Lu Changshu protested expressionlessly in his mind, but finally smiled and said, "Do you like him?"
"Yes," Mu Zhi pinched the paw pad in his hand, his whole body brimming with joy. "How adorable." Besides, this cat had short legs, making it completely harmless. If his little leaf escaped again, he could easily tame it with one hand.
(TL: Mu Zhi is talking about how easy it will be to tame ML's subordinate with his leaves... (・∀・))
His fingertips felt soft and smooth. The young man's hand slid from the kitten's ears to its neck, kneading the little creature with its folded ears into a purring white dumpling.
Instinctively, a claw pressed against Mu Zhi's arm. The kitten, squinting, lifted its chin in comfort, only to meet his old friend's half-smile from the corner of his eye.
"Meow!"
The little animal in his arms instantly straightened, its fur standing up. Mu Zhi was forced to stop, looking up bewilderedly, "What's wrong with it?"
"Maybe he doesn't like you," Lu Changshu replied calmly. He strode over, reached out, pinched the kitten's neck, and pulled it out of Mu Zhi's arms. "Stay away from him."
Mu Zhi hadn't encountered such a well behaved little animal in a long time. He looked at the kitten with some reluctance, but seeing it cling to Lu Changshu, its meows soft and sweet, he pinched his fingers and whispered a soft "oh. "
His tone was a little pitiful, and the two cats nearby glanced at him. "Want to get a cat?" Lu Changshu raised an eyebrow.
Not that he did, but who wouldn't want to cuddle with a furry creature? Even if it's catnip, he still has a heart that attracts cats.
But Mu Zhi also knows that if he keeps a cat, in the end it will most likely turn into the cat sucking him. As long as he thinks of the scene of being pressed and rubbed by the cat, the little monster's expression starts to get weird.
His hesitation successfully gave Lu Changshu a wrong understanding. The man squinted his eyes and smiled at the kitten. In the latter's disbelief, he slowly said: "It's a good thing to keep a cat, but you can't keep someone like him."
"His legs are short. He will miss a step and fall when going down the stairs," Lu Changshu said softly, recounting his friend's black history mercilessly. "It's difficult to turn over after falling down. He can get stuck in the gap of the sofa and can only twist and turn waiting for others to rescue him."
"Meow!"
Mu Zhi didn't understand cat language, but Lu Changshu knew that his friend was scolding him word for word. But taking advantage of Mu Zhi's incomprehension, he pinched the kitten's ear and chuckled, "Look, he agreed too."
(TL: LOL)
Pei Nan: ...
Pei Nan: Lu Changshu, you bastard!
The little animal in his arms had already given up resistance. It was now gnawing at the man's sleeve with its teeth, its eyes shifting from Lu Changshu to Mu Zhi.
"Meow?"
Is this the one who kidnapped you?
"Yeah," Lu Changshu replied softly, "stay away from him."
Tsk, tsk, tsk.
He knew from the beginning that this was meant specifically for him.
Pei Nan grumbled inwardly, but from Mu Zhi's perspective, all he could see was a cat-like expression, a scowl of displeasure at being threatened.
Clear eyes continued to stare at him (Pei Nan) unblinkingly. His friend raised his cat head, then, remembering Lu Changshu's threat, suppressed the urge to throw himself at him. He turned around and buried his head in Lu Changshu's arms.
Mu Zhi was stunned by his blunt refusal, his eyes wide with disbelief. He looked rather pitiful, and Lu Changshu lowered his eyes, seemingly trying to change the subject. "What would you like for lunch?"
Plants have high requirements for food, especially those like Mu Zhi, who have been nurtured daily from a seed by celestial dew.
He wasn't much of a cook; all he knew was to wash the ingredients and throw them into a pot for a simmer. Now, at Lu Changshu's question, the little demon's eyes lit up and asked, "Can you cook?"
Lu Changshu, who was looking down and rolling up his sleeves, laughed. "Who else do you think made the porridge this morning?"
"I'm fine with anything," Mu Zhi said modestly. "As long as there's no celery, greens, or cilantro, and less bones and more meat."
Pei Nan, abandoned by the two, quietly peeked out, planning his escape when he heard Lu Changshu's sudden chuckle and nearly slipped and fell off his arm.
His movement was quite loud, and even though Lu Changshu had already reached the door and was looking through the bag of vegetables, he lowered his head again.
Lu Changshu's eyes were a beautiful amber color. When he put away his gentle disguise, his gaze was like a deep pool under the abyss, which instantly took his friend's breath away.
"All the missions completed?" After Mu Zhi ran upstairs to change, the man's tone lost all warmth. "Or do you think you're too busy?"
"I was brought back here by force," the little animal said, hopping lightly onto the ground. "Otherwise, I'd be at the office by now."
Lu Changshu held the bag without moving. "I've been looking for some cooperation for Fu Lan recently."
"?"
"Keep him busy for a few more days," the man said, making a rare attempt to explain, heading straight to the kitchen.
Pei Nan's expression instantly turned strange again. He felt that something had become increasingly off about his resourceful friend since he returned.
But he didn't dare say it, only secretly complaining to his colleagues back home. After a few rustling noises, the kitten leaped onto the windowsill, meowed goodbye, and darted out.
Mu Zhi quickly changed into his pajamas, sausage in hand, intending to share a portion with the cat.
Just as he circled the living room, bending over to look under the sofa, the man, wearing his apron again, finally spoke, "He's gone."
"!"
Although he'd already suspected this possibility, a hint of disappointment still crossed Mu Zhi's face. He slowly made his way to the kitchen, finally standing at the doorway and asking, "Why did it leave?"
He figured he was still catnip, after all; even if he hid his true form, it would still have some effect on the cat. This was the first time he'd been so ignored and abandoned.
Mu Zhi raised his arm to his nose, quietly releasing a little scent. After sniffing and successfully detecting a familiar scent, his suspicions only grew.
His own scent hadn't changed at all. The problem lay with the cat.
If Lu Changshu hadn't noticed that slightly cool scent, he might have actually thought the young man standing at the doorway was sullenly contemplating something serious.
But the man's thoughts had already drifted to finding a cat to study someday, oblivious to the extent to which his careless release of scent had provoked Young Master Lu.
Fortunately, Lu Changshu, having undergone years of training with his mother's clan, possessing a strong self-control, and before Mu Zhi could react, he had already stuffed a piece of tomato into his mouth.
"Maybe he's anxious to get home to see the kids," Lu Changshu's voice was slightly hoarse, his lips still curved. "So, a smart, independent, and affectionate cat is best, like..."
"Like what?" Mu Zhi asked vaguely, chewing a tomato.
"Like a Maine Coon," Lu Changshu's eyes gleamed. "The kind with a silver tabby toes and white fur."
(TL: I added some more description of the characteristics.)
Mu Zhi's knowledge of cats was limited to casual conversations with Tongzi back in the fields. Back then, the catnip had only just grown, short and plump, its leaves tender and adorable.
(TL: Tongzi is like the care taker of Mu Zhi back when he was still a little catnip... Tongzi means servant boy)
Perhaps because there were so few spirit plants in the entire garden, and Tongzi had finally discovered one, he naturally brought a chair over to chat with him every day.
The boy had extensive experience; according to him, there wasn't a place in the six realms he hadn't visited. So when Mu Zhi curiously asked about the demon world, he listened earnestly, explaining, "The demon world honors the strongest, but the demon kings have always been a single lineage. Even though the demon kings are originally cats, they contain several powerful individuals, and even the Celestial Emperor treats them with courtesy."
"I remember the venerable who recently emerged from seclusion was one of them. I think his original form was a Maine Coon, and he was quite pretty."
Mu Zhi had just taken it as a story, but now that Lu Changshu had mentioned it, his curiosity was piqued.
So, while waiting for Lu Changshu to cook, the little demon crouched on the balcony, staring at the bushes below, trying to spot the white cat, while pulling out his phone to search for videos related to it.
He was so engrossed in watching that when he was called downstairs for dinner, he realized he had already ordered a large order of cat snacks. Perhaps because he'd watched too many cat videos today, Mu Zhi's dreams were filled with cats.
After another dream in which he was pounced upon by that large, handsome Maine Coon, the little demon sat at the head of the bed for a long moment, stunned, with the trembling little leaves on his head. Finally, he scrambled out of bed and, using the moonlight, dug out the flowerpot from under the bed.
Although he had been transformed for a long time, just as a cat feels secure in an enclosed space, the familiar flowerpot brought Mu Zhi comfort and security.
When he first entered the world, unfamiliar with everything, he slept in the flowerpot almost every day. It was only after the system read him bedtime stories for several nights that he finally established the habit of sleeping in bed.
The dream wasn't terrifying, but the shock it left on him made him particularly alert.
He hesitated for a moment, holding the flowerpot, before finally opening the door and tiptoeing onto the balcony.
One of Mu Zhi's favorite things to do was to sway the little leaves in the moonlight, savoring the quiet of the night. Perhaps due to exhaustion over the past two days, the delicate leaves trembled in the air, then soon curled up, their tips tucked in.
He fell asleep.
Mu Zhi fell asleep carefree in the moonlight, but the scent of catnip was quietly carried into the downstairs window by the breeze.
Then, with a slight noise, a nimble figure was slowly approaching along the stairs.
It was an extremely beautiful Maine Coon, with an elegant posture, a fluffy and smooth white fur collar on his neck, and a gorgeous tail swaying gently with his movements.
The steps were slow and gentle, which was unique to cats, but those dangerous vertical pupils were staring at the plant in the center of the flowerpot from beginning to end.
