The villain always wants to suck me bald [Quick Wear] Chapter 11
Little Stand-in 11
After sending the recording to those people, Lu Changshu paid no attention to the subsequent developments.
To be honest, Pei Nan's arrangements and the cooperation with the bigwigs were particularly tacit. The speed with which they had achieved this situation was somewhat surprising to Lu Changshu.
However, his plans went far beyond this. He had a wealth of resources at his disposal and was in no rush to unleash them all.
The surrounding families, known for their names, were all affected to varying degrees. This year also happened to be a crucial year for City A's selection of "National Outstanding Models." The entire city had been diligently preparing for this, and naturally, they wouldn't allow themselves to be defeated by these few individuals.
"The Lu and Wang families were recently summoned for questioning," Lu Changshu poured the young man a glass of water, lowering his gaze. "I heard the other families are being targeted as well. Try not to go out for the time being."
In the circle of the powerful, no one is immune to madness. Lu Changshu provided ample clues in every incident, and anyone with a discerning eye would easily connect the dots.
He'd hoped those people would come knocking on his door in anger, but judging by the current situation, it was hard to guarantee someone wouldn't target Mu Zhi.
After all, as a "jealousy-so-brought-home" stand-in, using Mu Zhi to cause trouble for him was far easier than doing it himself.
However, Lu Changshu wasn't particularly worried about Mu Zhi actually doing anything to him. He was more concerned that someone would use Mu Zhi to sow discord between him and Fu Lan.
For example, they might lock Mu Zhi up in a dark room, a true kidnapping that would be illegal.
This line sounded incredibly familiar to Mu Zhi; he'd just heard Fu Lan and the system mention it a while ago, and now even Lu Changshu was nagging about it.
"Besides going out tomorrow," Mu Zhi thought, "I have to go back to school for an exam on Saturday." He didn't have to worry about going out tomorrow. With Fu Lan around, those people wouldn't openly antagonize the Fu family even if they wanted to.
But Saturday was a different story.
As Lu Changshu reflected on this, he suddenly regretted having Pei Nan schedule the trip for this week.
"Be careful then," Lu Changshu said silently, not wanting to worry him, changed the subject. "The same goes for the exam. For translation questions, it's better to use low-level vocabulary than to make up new words like you did just now."
Mu Zhi hated it most when he put on a silent expression and lectured him. Lu Changshu had beautiful features, and his smile was as gentle as jade, but without a smile, he looked particularly aloof, a bit fierce, and intimidating.
Mu Zhi opened his mouth and wanted to say something, but after staring at the man's face for a long time, he finally snorted and turned away in a huff, looking as if he didn't want to talk to him.
The little demon didn't have a temper at all.
He had endured greater injustices in the demon world on his own, so now, as long as Lu Changshu patiently coaxed him, he would soon pout and talk to someone else.
If he hadn't been thrown in here on a mission after breaking the vase, and hadn't met Fu Lan, Lu Changshu, and the system here, Mu Zhi could hardly imagine that he would one day live such a life.
As the young man happily ran to the kitchen in his slippers to wash apples, Lu Changshu swiped the screen of his tablet with his finger, then opened the calendar and circled Saturday in a bright color.
His movement was so small and fast that Mu Zhi didn't notice what was happening in his hand on the way from leaving to returning with the apple.
The apples in Mu Zhi's hand were all of similar quality. He lowered his head and compared them carefully for a long time before handing the slightly larger one to Lu Changshu.
Lu Changshu was typing a conversation with someone, and because of his posture, the faintly visible veins on the back of his hand became even more obvious.
In addition, he was holding a red apple in his hand. With such a bright color contrast, Mu Zhi couldn't help but glance at him several times.
By nature, men are extremely perceptive. So, just as Mu Zhi tried to look up again, he asked without even looking up, "Do I have the answers?"
Mu Zhi looked away in frustration, staring at the paper and taking another vicious bite of his apple.
Although he always got a lot of mistakes, after days of cramming and Mu Zhi's own hard work, today's practice session finally yielded a good result.
"Keep it up," Lu Changshu said, pleased with himself, offering a rare compliment. "Very good this time."
Mu Zhi's foundation wasn't great, but his strengths lay in his willingness to endure hardship, and perseverance.
Despite being irritated every day, Lu Changshu felt an inexplicable sense of pride after handing the paper back and then looking up at the smile on Mu Zhi's face.
It was a strange and eerie feeling, but Lu Changshu didn't reject it. He even made dinner, for once, by not forcing Mu Zhi to eat his vegetables. This frightened the little demon, who briefly thought he was still unhappy about his visit to Fu Lan's house and was seizing the opportunity to make some big move.
But then he waited all night. After several episodes of "Agricultural World" on TV had finished and the clock had ticked several times, Mu Zhi yawned, covering his mouth. Then he silently glanced at Lu Changshu, who was still busy at his computer.
Seeing that he was still sitting upright, he rubbed his eyes and went to his bedroom. He couldn't bear it anymore.
Any big moves would be done tomorrow.
Mu Zhi was so sleepy that he was a mess. He was not a plant that always stayed up late. Rather than staying in the living room, using his phone to save money on apps to grow other vegetables, he would rather bury himself in the quilt and cultivate himself in his dreams.
So, with this belief in mind, Mu Zhi washed up and threw himself into bed, then rolled up the quilt into the most comfortable shape.
Sleep is one of the happiest things in life.
Mu Zhi had an exceptional sleep quality. Unless there were special circumstances, he could sleep comfortably until he woke naturally.
Even Tongzi had once lamented, while watering him, that if he hadn't grown up in the garden, some cat would have spotted him and snatched him away in his sleep.
The boy's words were, in a way, particularly plausible.
Mu Zhi had made a fortune betting with him before, and now the young man was soundly asleep, tucked into his bed, oblivious to the fact that his door had quietly opened a crack.
Mu Zhi preferred pitch darkness when he slept; as he put it, such a bedroom visually reminiscent of being in the fields.
Fu Lan, a fellow plant spirit, didn't quite understand his quirk, let alone Lu Changshu.
Fortunately, felines have excellent night vision. He glanced inside from the doorway and immediately noticed the small bulge on the bed, rising and falling with each breath.
The elegant, large cat twitched its ears and silently stepped inside.
This wasn't Lu Changshu's first time in Mu Zhi's room. Ever since he'd started calling him to wake up, except for the first day when he'd been polite, he'd knocked unsuccessfully on the door and opened it himself, pulling him out from under the covers.
He was so familiar with Mu Zhi's bedroom, so familiar with it, that he could practically picture its layout even with his eyes closed.
The silver-black Maine Coon cat tucked itself into a crouched position, its large, fluffy tail flicking slightly in the air. He'd found a perfect spot where he could just glance up and see Mu Zhi's face.
The little demon looked even more docile in his sleep, his cheek pressed against the pillow, half his face hidden by the quilt. Only the faint flutter of his eyelashes suggested he wasn't dreaming much.
His slender ears jerked at the other's whisper, and the cat stared at him for a long moment, pupils narrowed.
Only when the demon frowned, as if about to tuck the rest of his face under the covers again, did he gracefully straighten himself and leap onto the bed.
Maine Coons are naturally large, especially when it comes to Lu Changshu, a prominent figure in the family.
Fearing his movements might wake the other, the silver-black Maine Coon didn't lie down. Instead, he controlled his strength and took gentle, slow steps toward Mu Zhi.
The little demon was sound asleep, unfazed by the presence of a cat in his bed.
His animalistic pupils stared intently at Mu Zhi's face in the darkness. Only when he had successfully slid under the covers to reach the young man did Lu Changshu unconsciously wag his tail.
Mu Zhi's dream wasn't exactly a happy one.
Perhaps because he'd been dwelling on Lu Changshu's grand gesture before falling asleep, the topic persisted even after he closed his eyes.
In his dream, Mu Zhi was troubled by this, and since he'd lost all interest in the supposed grand gesture, he transformed back into his original form and, with his slender legs, sprinted towards his flower pot.
For some reason, the flowerpot in the dream was very high from the ground, and Mu Zhi ran for a long time without feeling the distance between him and the flowerpot shorten at all.
The catnip was a little confused, but because he was a little monster with only perseverance, he did not choose to give up, but chose to speed up and continue running forward.
As we all know, the logic in dreams is very strange.
Mu Zhi initially accepted the fact that he was thrown to the ground well, but when the cat that appeared out of nowhere pressed him down with its claws and started rubbing against him, the catnip froze his leaves and realized for the first time the true meaning of the word "hardship in growing grass".
