The villain always wants to suck me bald [Quick Wear] Chapter 1
Little Stand-in 1
"Don't run around, and don't drink the wine offered to you. If you're hungry, search your bag for snacks. If you're bored, put on your headphones and memorize some CET-4 vocabulary..."
(TL: CET-4, or College English Test Band 4, is a standardized English language proficiency test in China. It assesses the English language skills of non-English major undergraduate students in Chinese higher education institutions.)
The young man before him had delicate features, his fine hair cascading across his forehead. His cream-colored sweater and matching vest accentuated his docile and gentle demeanor.
Mu Zhi trusted this senior who had brought him the protagonist's script and was accompanying him on his mission. Furthermore, he was the system's assigned caretaker, so he nodded obediently, "Okay."
Although Fu Lan was a veteran, this was his first time taking on a newbie, let alone a flimsy, easily gullible little monster like Mu Zhi.
Fortunately, the two were currently bound together. Otherwise, if he were left alone, the little monster might just wander off and be snatched up by some strange creature.
Outwitting the villain was exhausting enough, and Fu Lan didn't want to be searching the streets for him halfway through the story.
Mu Zhi had no idea what the protagonist was thinking at the moment. He was staring out the window with bright, curious eyes at the world outside.
As a catnip plant, Mu Zhi had never imagined he'd have the opportunity to stand high and look down upon the ground. Although the sixth floor wasn't considered high in the bustling city, Mu Zhi stared at the figures below, his eyes filled with unconcealed joy.
The mumbling in his ear had suddenly jumped from "There won't be any good people in the house later" to something terrifying like "If you drink, you'll be caught sucking the leaves." Mu Zhi blinked and finally tried to correct him, saying, "No one likes to sniff catnip."
Although Mu Zhi was the protagonist's stand-in for the villain in the plot, their relationship was more like that of brothers, and at times, Mu Zhi felt like he (Fu Lan) was raising his own son.
Old Father Fu was still harping on about precautions, oblivious to the young man behind him, who was already pondering the relationship between willow trees and catnip. But Fu Lan, like an old father, now spoke. "It's hard to say. The world is collapsing so badly, so a few more perverts are possible."
Mu Zhi's face wrinkled at his mention of this.
Something had happened recently, and many of the villains' darker powers had drastically changed. As a result, the protagonists, unable to carry the main story or dying, had caused the smaller worlds to completely collapse. To restore order to the world, the main system had drafted in numerous people to work overtime.
So, in this team, Fu Lan, the protagonist, would focus on his career and survive to the end, while Mu Zhi, the cannon fodder, would distract the villains and try to make things easier for the protagonists.
Mu Zhi's task sounded simple, but he wasn't facing a villain who would later single-handedly transform City A's upper crust, and certainly not one who, in his youth, had sent the cannon fodder to the ICU with a bottle of wine.
The villain in this world was Lu Changshu, and his revenge was swift and fierce, his methods so ruthless that his targets either went insane or disabled, and even the protagonist nearly succumbed to his treachery. But even this man, before his dark turn, was truly pitiful.
His stepbrother's frame-up, his father's indifference, the cynicism of his relatives, and the rejection of everyone else, shaped Lu Changshu's distorted childhood. It's not that he didn't resist, but as is often the case with small fry, no one in his chaotic world believed he was truly innocent.
Gradually, he learned to remain silent and endure. However, when he went to study in his mother's country, the rumors still haunted him, even reaching his bedridden mother.
Later, on his mother's death and the devastating impact of his career forced him to return home, only to be met with one conspiracy after another.
Now, with the news of his return quickly spreading through the community, the second young master Lu organized a gathering, ostensibly to welcome his brother home, but in reality, it is to bring in a group of people to tamper with Lu Changshu's spirit.
With the Lu family's tacit approval, everyone present today wanted to witness the defeat of this arrogant young master.
Mu Zhi felt uncomfortable the moment he read the plot, but he wasn't known for much cursing, so he could only reiterate how pitiful Lu Changshu was and how annoying the supporting characters were.
In the original story, only the protagonist, Fu Lan, was attending the party tonight. However, before leaving, he was stared at by those clear eyes for a long time, and finally relented and brought Mu Zhi along.
In the story, Lu Changshu was being forced to drink at the party to secure an investment. Although this aloof villain drank a lot, he suddenly grabbed the bottle and smacked Lu Ershao in the head. Meanwhile, despite the amount of wine on the table, the floor remained spotless.
Fortunately, he made it in time.
Mu Zhi breathed a sigh of relief, then tilted his head, presumably to be hidden, and to peer at the figure sitting in the darkness. He was a tall man, neatly dressed in a three-piece suit. Even in the dim light, his striking features were still visible.
He sat quietly, making no sign to the arrival of Fu Lan and Mu Zhi. Mu Zhi had wanted to take a closer look, but his gaze hadn't lingered for long before he was met with a pair of emotionless, cold eyes. Being stared at so suddenly was quite unexpected, and Mu Zhi didn't know how to react for a moment. He could only let Lu Changshu look at him with wide eyes.
Mu Zhi didn't know how to describe the gaze that he couldn't avoid. Anyway, when he came to his senses, the well-dressed man had lowered his eyes again, and his slender fingers were slowly stroking the jade ring on his thumb.
When everyone had heard that Fu Lan was invited tonight, they hadn't believed he'd actually come. But now, seeing the distinguished-looking man pouring a glass of juice onto the young man beside him as soon as he sat down, someone couldn't help but whistle, "Boss Fu really knows how to pamper people."
Mu Zhi's face was filled with bewilderment at the other party's teasing, but before he could look at Fu Lan for help, he heard someone inside jokingly say, "Since Little Boss Fu is here, Lu Changshu, you should at least give him some respect and have a drink."
"You might not know this during all those years you were abroad, but Little Boss Fu found another sweetheart after you left. His name is, Mu Zhi. He does look a bit like you..."
"Bang—"
Lu Changshu put his glass on the table, his voice slightly low but cold, "Okay."
His straightforward agreement surprised everyone around him, but seeing him return to his downcast expression after he said that, no one suspected anything, simply assuming that Lu Changshu was probably just irritated by Mu Zhi's arrival.
So, amidst the laughter, the man nearby deliberately opened a bottle of strong liquor for him. Lu Changshu lowered his head, unconcerned with the contents of the glass before him. He simply accepted the drink without a word, then, with a twist of his wrist, downed it in one gulp.
His movements were seamless, and only when the empty glass clattered against the table did everyone else resume their laughter and chatter. Only Mu Zhi stared at Lu Changshu, his eyes half-lidded, unblinking, a look of worry creeping in his eyes.
Young Master Lu had put considerable effort into preparing for this evening, and the liquor he prepared for Lu Changshu was particularly potent.
So, under Mu Zhi's gaze, Lu Changshu's face began to pale. Though his drooping eyelashes hid the expression in his eyes, the discomfort from the burning sensation still made him look vulnerable.
Lu Changshu, as he was, didn't seem at all the terrifying or dangerous person Fu Lan had described him as. Even when he asked to wash his face, he nodded cheerfully.
Young Master Lu chuckled softly at Lu Changshu's departure, but despite this, he raised his drink to Fu Lan and said, "That's just my eldest brother's nature. He didn't mean to disrespect Young Master Fu. As his younger brother, I apologize on his behalf."
While trying to win Fu Lan's favor, Young Master Lu also smeared Lu Changshu. Mu Zhi, who was staring at the door with a glass of juice beside him, bit down fiercely on his straw.
The plot indicated that Fu Lan wouldn't be able to stay here for long, and Lu Changshu would be forced to drink again upon his return.
To prevent the villain from becoming more evil and to prevent Lu Changshu from suffering from stomach problems, Mu Zhi had already agreed with Fu Lan before arriving: they would take Lu Changshu away tonight.
This thought gave the already selfish little demon a stronger sense of righteousness. He deliberately poured the juice onto his sleeve, and as Fu Lan patiently went through the final scene with Young Master Lu, he raised his hand to indicate his intention to wash his hands.
Fu Lan, distracted, quickly glanced at the system's minimap. Seeing that Lu Changshu's location hadn't left, he nodded casually, reminding him not to run around and to just wash his hands and wait for his arrival.
Mu Zhi, of course, didn't run around. He followed the navigation system and jogged along. Turning the corner, he saw Lu Changshu standing in front of the mirror.
Lu Changshu looked different now than he had inside. He stood at the sink, his once neat collar undone by several buttons. Cold water dripped down his hair and onto his neck. Even though he couldn't see his face from this angle, Mu Zhi instinctively wanted to step back.
Fortunately, he had just taken a step forward when his reason for coming out suddenly came to mind. It was just that in all his years, this little demon had never been so presumptuous as to forcefully approach someone.
Afraid that Lu Changshu would ignore him before he even opened his mouth, and that he'd assume he had bad intentions, he lingered at the door for a long time, not noticing that the man had straightened his back and was now gazing coldly at him through the mirror.
Mu Zhi was completely unaware that he was exposed, and was still thinking about the possibility of delaying the other party and waiting for Fu Lan to come over. However, just as he took out his mobile phone and sent a message to Fu Lan, the light in front of him suddenly dimmed.
Lu Changshu was a little taller than Mu Zhi, and he just saw the content on the other party's screen when he lowered his head.
Mu Zhi was startled by his sudden move to move closer. He opened his mouth to explain, but his eyes widened instantly when the other party frowned and suddenly staggered towards him.
It was not until his back was pressed against the cold wall and the unfamiliar breath that caused a shudder to run through his neck that Mu Zhi subconsciously held the other party's waist and reacted belatedly.
He seemed to have been...
hit by the villain.
