The villain always wants to suck me bald [Quick Wear] Chapter 3
Little Stand-in 3
As Mu Zhi scribbled on his test paper while curled up on the sofa, Lu Changshu had already received all the young man's information. His subordinates were incredibly efficient, and the folder contained not only Mu Zhi's life story but also every test result.
Lu Changshu looked at the report card on his phone, which showed a passing score of 425, but he only scored 225. He then turned to look at Mu Zhi, who was still scribbling on the paper while curled up on the sofa, and stood up, eager to see what was going on in his little head.
Mu Zhi's grades were actually quite good, and he could keep up with the original owner's progress, but he simply couldn't muster any interest in English.
To avoid having his points deducted from the system, he held his face in his hands, staring at the densely packed words before him, and with a languid expression, he opened the translation app, intending to check each one one by one.
Patience is a thing that plant-type monsters have in abundance. So when Lu Changshu approached, Mu Zhi was already buried in copying the translation, meticulously writing every stroke.
Mu Zhi and Fu Lan both preferred to use their own bodies when completing missions. However, due to their original form, even though they were in their early twenties, their frames were still smaller than those of their peers.
Therefore, if someone were to bend down at this moment, they could easily embrace them.
But Lu Changshu had no such thoughts at the moment. He looked down at the young man, his brow furrowed in thought, and then turned his gaze to see what question had stumped him. However, after clearly reading the question on the paper, Lu Changshu fell silent.
"Choose C for question two."
The voice from above startled Mu Zhi. He looked in the direction Lu Changshu was pointing, but he tried to clear his mind with a pen and retorted, "Impossible, the correct answer is B."
In his twenty-five years of life, Lu Changshu had never been questioned in this way. He walked around the sofa, grabbed Mu Zhi's pen, and circled the key words. "This question asks about the effects of catnip on cats."
"Yes," Mu Zhi nodded in agreement. "All cats love catnip."
"Who told you 'all'?" Lu Changshu raised an eyebrow. Mu Zhi frowned and said, "I've seen it."
He himself was catnip. Back then, he was the most beautiful plant in the garden. Every day when he opened his eyes, he would see dozens of kittens huddled outside the fence, their ears perked up, staring at him eagerly.
Furthermore, the boy who watered him daily had said that the rest of the ordinary catnip in the garden had been reserved by the demon world long before it even sprouted. Some, impatient, had already carried their pots and made a grand entrance, stealing their own catnip.
The boy had repeatedly warned Mu Zhi the day he transformed into a human: to be as discreet as possible in the future. Feline demons favored little ones like him. And the birthday of a great cat demon was approaching soon. If he encountered any unreasonable ones, he'd likely be captured as a gift.
"I'll be held down and licked, and rubbed against by all kinds of cats," Mu Zhi said with lingering fear, "There are cats everywhere, there is no place to stand."
Lu Changshu narrowed his eyes and corrected him patiently, "Not all cats like catnip, for example... the one at home doesn't like it. Not all cats will react so strongly, some will just stare blankly and that's it."
"So choose C for this question," Lu Changshu brought the subject back, he pointed at the test paper, "The first paragraph has the original text."
Not knowing that his attraction to cats had increased countless times because of his spirit, Mu Zhi puffed up his face and leaned on the table, and finally reluctantly changed the option during the other party's translation.
Seeing him hesitate, Lu Changshu casually asked, "You don't like cats?" Mu Zhi raised his head slightly, thought carefully, and shook his head, "No."
"They're too enthusiastic and like to bite me," Mu Zhi lowered his head to study the next question, his tone unconsciously lowered. "So I try to avoid them."
Lu Changshu's eyelashes fluttered slightly. "My cat don't bite."
Mu Zhi glanced up at him, pen in hand, as if puzzled by the explanation.
Fortunately, Lu Changshu quickly realized his attitude. A gentle smile quickly appeared on his lips, and with a glance, he pointed out another mistake.
Lu Changshu's English was indeed very good. Mu Zhi had only just finished stumbling through the options when he had already chosen the correct one.
After once again catching his stand-in trying to guess the answer, Lu Changshu finally took off his glasses and rubbed his brow.
"I heard Fu Lan found you based on my appearance?" he asked calmly, sitting nearby. "Do you mind if I ask what aspect of me he based it on?"
In the plot, the original owner and Lu Changshu do share some facial features, which is the primary reason the protagonist chose the original owner.
However, now that Mu Zhi is using his own body for the mission, this sole similarity no longer holds true.
So Mu Zhi turned and stared at Lu Changshu for a long moment, his mind racing to recall the entire plot before he spoke in a vague, erratic tone, "Attitude."
"?"
Mu Zhi paused, trying to round out the statement with more authenticity. "That's right, we both share the same serious attitude towards learning."
Perhaps it was the English tutoring session or the effects of last night's drinking, but Lu Changshu's calm response to this answer surprised even himself. "He's got good taste," he remarked sincerely.
After spending over an hour together, Mu Zhi had grown quite close to Lu Changshu, and upon hearing him speak, he nodded in agreement, "Yes. Senior Fu is such a nice guy."
"Oh?" Lu Changshu leaned over to better observe the other person's expression. "Why, is he nice to you?"
"He's just nice," Mu Zhi said, shaking his head. After successfully transforming, he left the small garden.
Later, fearing his identity might be exposed, he never made any friends in the demon world. So, thinking back, although Fu Lan was called "senior," he was the little demon's first true friend.
"He plays with me, tells me stories, and even lets me sleep in." Lu Changshu put his pen on the table. "You're really easy to please."
"Senior Fu said so too," he said softly, his voice trailing off with a hint of pride that seemed to come from nowhere. "After all, I'm easy to please."
Lu Changshu didn't know if Mu Zhi was easy to please, but he knew the young man was likely both easy to coax and easy to deceive.
Sighing silently, he stood up to get a glass of water, but a hand suddenly grabbed his shirt. The young man below silently raised his head, a look of alarm written across his face. "Are you leaving?"
Lu Changshu didn't know why he was so good-tempered today. He pointed toward the kitchen and said gently, "I'm just going to get a glass of water. Want some?"
Mu Zhi raised his upper body and glanced in the direction of his finger. Then he stood up and ran to the door, fiddling with it behind the man's back for a moment. Finally, with the soft click of another lock falling, the young man nodded with satisfaction. "Yes, I want some warmer."
In the past, if someone dared to speak to him like that, Lu Changshu would have been sure they would have fallen to their knees and begged to him in tears.
But now, after being ordered around by Mu Zhi, the man didn't get angry. Instead, after filling the water in the kitchen, he touched the back of his hand against the wall of the glass to test the temperature.
It was unexpected that after being "kidnapped," the great Lu Changshu would have calmed down considerably.
Outside, Mu Zhi returned to his seat and flipped through a new set of papers. He was about to cheer himself up, pen in hand, when a screen beside him suddenly lit up, instantly drawing his attention.
The original owner of this world had few friends, and the only one who could message him was Fu Lan. Mu Zhi belatedly realized he'd forgotten something.
Fu Lan was just figuring out a plot twist, finally having some free time after a morning of meetings. He'd never worried about Mu Zhi being home alone, but with Lu Changshu at home today, he whipped out his phone and sent him a message.
[Willow Tree Never Bald: "Is everything alright?"]
[Catmint No Cat: "No."]
[Catmint No Cat: "Senior, you can not be home for the time being."]
[Willow Tree Never Bald: "?"]
Mu Zhi had been so focused on shutting up Lu Changshu's questions that he'd spoken without much thought, but now, thinking it over, he saw flaws everywhere.
[Catnip has no cat: If he asks why he was brought back, I'll just say I kidnapped him.]
According to Mu Zhi, he was both the principal and accomplice in Lu Changshu's kidnapping. So, to prevent this from being exposed, Fu Lan would have to move to a new house for the time being.
The little monster's move was truly audacious, even the system, which had been peeking through the window and watching the entire process, was astonished.
But now that the words were out, it was inappropriate to knock Lu Changshu unconscious and pretend nothing had happened. Plus, he (Fu Lan) had a lot on his plate. Fu Lan pinched his nose and remained silent for a moment before finally asking Mu Zhi to keep him at home as long as possible.
[The Willow Tree is Never Bald: Then stay safe. Call me if you need anything. Also, eat less takeout. It's hot these days, remember to drink plenty of water. Go out on the balcony and bask in the sun when the weather is nice...]
Fu Lan, with his father figure rekindling, couldn't stop nagging once he started. Mu Zhi stared at the messages that popped up on his screen, and finally responded to each one carefully.
He typed slowly, and by the time he had replied to the last message, Lu Changshu had already sat back down.
"Chatting with Fu Lan?" He handed the cup to Mu Zhi and asked casually. Mu Zhi took the cup and had a sip, revealing only a pair of round eyes. "Hmm."
Lu Changshu put his hand down, his gesture very casual. "What are you discussing?"
Discussing how to hold you back.
Of course, such an answer could only be said in his heart. Mu Zhi put the cup down and picked a topic that sounded more reliable and replied: "Discussing when is the next time I'll go to his place for tutoring."
"Tutoring?" Lu Changshu raised his eyebrows, then chuckled, "Why go to his place for tutoring? If you want tutoring, just come to me."
"Or are you dissatisfied with my level?"
